With all the AT crap, what's PCGS's guarantee??

Say an AT coin is slabbed by PCGS, there is nothing in the so-called guarantee to provide any recourse--just like the so-called guarantee of authenticity.

We should demand a statement about recourse in these circumstances!!!

I guess it depends on your "proof" of AT.

what would happen if a coin you purchased had a dig in the face of the coin ?
when is it an acceptable scratch and when does it cross the threshold into the realm of damaged.

That's a large part of the problem--PCGS determines whether it made an error. It is judge & jury of its own conduct!!

  • You need to take responsibility for your purchases and rare coin investment decisions. The grading services can not do it all. A TPG is only an opinion in my view. If you can't grade then maybe you should not be buying coins.

The bottom line - its your investment and your responsibility if you make any money in numismatics. Whether dealer or collector, he who has knowledge is king and will use that to his advantage in any transaction with you to make money.
