The Colorado quarters look good.

Not only do they look better in hand than they do in photos but the few
I've seen are also well made. The scene reminds me of the "Oh, My God"
trail near Central City, and it probaby will moreso as they wear. I got a roll
of the Phillys and there are five gems in it.

They did look good, I got bags and rolls. I sent about twenty in for grading. The only problem I see is the
distorted lettering on the obverse. As with Nebraska a lot have flattend letters, not crisp and that is a
detracting feature.
As a long-time Colorado resident, the only problem I have with the design is that it is redundant.
It is the only state quarter with the state's name on it twice.
"Colorado Colorful Colorado"
By the way, it is been proven beyond a doubt that the image on the Colorado quarter is not a "generic mountain scene" as claimed by the Governor and others. It is a view of Long's peak, as seen from inside Rocky Mountain National Park. But that is fine with me - I can see Long's Peak from my house.
The one I found in circulation is the
Brightest quarter I have ever seen...bar none
However, the I am glad the mint's mock-up of it (which looked horrible) did not make the cut.
<< <i>DCarr, I still think your 10th Mountain Div skiier design was the best.

Thanks,
Of the five US Mint drawings that were finalists for the Colorado quarter, I thought four of them looked nice. But I didn't like the Mint's rendition of the 10th Mountain division design. And neither did Colorado Ski Country USA or the veterans of the 10th.
But my version of the 10th Mountain Division quarter has already been struck and I'll have some at the ANA.
Here is my original submission to the Governor's office:

Thanks, and the answer is yes. And I also have three other Colorado quarters I designed in die-struck form now.
They are Pike's Peak, Mesa Verde, and a 3D "aerial" view of the state's topography.
All four will be available at the ANA (and they are on my web site too).
And I might as well round out the collection. Here is a 5th one I recently minted:
And the others:
I don't have pictures of the actual coins yet, but they are on the way.
I must agree...they are one of the better designed statehood quarters.

Actually just got my grades back! Mind you these Colorado coins were picked from both rolls
and bags. Went thru four bags of each, and a total of forty rolls.
Submitted 20 of the best coins I could find.
The grades follow
18- MS66
1- MS67 D
1- MS67 P

Table #551, "Daniel Carr / Designs Computed".
A corner table near (but not in) the "budget" area.
