Will Whitman be issuing a Whitman Rebook series on Large Cents and Half Cents?

Does anyone know? Large cents and half cents seem to be a very fertile area for research, with a lot of specialized books published by prominent collectors of early copper. Does anyone know if Whitman is planning to issue a Redbook Series book on large cents and half cents? I see that they have a book on colonials coming out soon, but I don't know if any early copper books are planned. Given the quality of the other Whitman books, I would look forward to something like this.

Just for kicks, who do you think should write such a book? Or should it be written by a dream team of early copper aficionados?

My guess, based on the short history of the last year or so, is that Whitman will publish a book on all major series of US coins over the next few years. I am looking forward to a new book on the Lincoln cent. Steveimage

    i hope so
  • I hope so, but it doesn't appear to be a priority. The two that are mentioned in the others as forthcoming are a book on the Seated Liberty coins and a book on the Barber coins. There was also mention in the Shield and Liberty Head Nickel book that it started out as a book on all nickels and that the project was divided into two parts. So I expect a single book on Buffalo and Jefferson Nickels.
The strangest things seem suddenly routine.
