In-Slab crossovers....

Has anyone submitted a card for crossover service, in the slab, and got it back as a higher grade? (e.g. you submit a BGS 8 and get a PSA 9 back)

  • Sure I sent 100 PSA 5's to PRO and they all came back PRO 9.5's!

BUT seriously you don't really think any reputable grading company is going to admit that their grading standards are lower than their competitors do you? They even state that they will not accept a crossover with a min grade that is higher than the cards current grade.

I had a BGS 7 (before they were BVG vintage) 1965 topps Yvon Cournoyer rookie cross to a PSA 8 in the holder. The card is a solid 8.

Just asking. I know that we "think" that the companies wouldn't assign anything higher and will flip everything back as trimmed, but I just wanted to see if anyone had any real-world experience.

Perhaps. It doesn't pay to be the "grade nazi" in this industry.
