Has anyone noticed any revisions to the PCGS price guide reflecting Long Beach?

I see basically nothing in 20th century gold.....do you see anything in what you follow?

Sure would make this trading contest a little easier. image

A 1909VDB Matte Proof Lincoln cent in PR65RB went for $17K at the LB auction. A similiar proof in PR66RB went for $30k in that auction. (see my other thread on these) Take a look at the PCGS price guide for these two coins and you can see the current pricing is NOT reflected. Steveimage

I spoke to the guy who updates the price guide who only does the moderns section but is slowly moving to update all of the areas. He told me that David Hall himself updates everything that isn't considered "modern" and that he is extremely busy and can only update it every so often. For this reason, I feel that the guys trading moderns back and fourth are seeing quicker reactions to the market than the guys who have classics in their portfolio. The moderns are simply updated more accurately and more frequently. For instance, I do not know of a High Relief $20 in PCGS MS66 ever selling for near the amount ($92,500) that the price guide indicates but I've yet to see any reflection in the price of 1867 proof nickels w/rays in 64cam updated from ($52,500) since goldberg sold one for $60,000 several months ago.

Brandon...you're right about the HR among other things.

Let's try to be careful when referring to 20th Century gold as "moderns". image

I'm waiting for the 1931 MS65 Saint. Price guide is 90K and one sold at Goldberg for 115K hammer/132K juiced. That's a big one when you own a "few". image

The 1929 Saint kicked $1000 on Monday, but the '31 is mysteriously absent from current upticks.image

Also, some Indian gold is not reflected in the increases. I guess Laura buried her client......image
