How to rid my type set of PVC: 1807 Comet cent & 1913 Ty1 5c

When I returned to coin collecting in 1999 the best collection I retained was my U.S. Type Set. I had kept it in an old Harco Coinmaster album with slides that tended to impart PVC damage to coins. I have used a Dansco 7070 for the last five years Although the Dansco album is easier to fill (no 18th century types required) I miss some of the coins I bought in the '80s with no hole in my current album (like my 1795 half dollar and 1873 quarter). Still, I retain a few old friends purchased 20 years ago and stored in the Harco for 15 years.

I checked out my type set a week ago and was sickened to see green spots on a couple of my favorites. Today I received a 1913 Type 1 nickel which is an upgrade from this one, but I post its reverse to show you a green spot above the bison's head which I didn't see until this week:

I'm more worried about my Draped Bust Large Cent, 1807 Comet Variety S-271.

I have never cleaned any of my coins, and wonder if there is a solution/technique to remove these ugly green spots from my old friends, or if it is too late. I would rather not send them to the good coin doctors at NCS.
