younger collectors, chime in here

how many do we have here under 21 or so ?, just curious, I dont see alot of younger collectors at shows etc, other than kids being dragged around by mom and dad...and who got you interesed in coins?...My kids like them but I dont think would ever collect

    I was under 21 in 1969.

    Damn! Did I get the math right? My ability to do arithmetic has been slipping since I got past 50. Dementia can’t be far behind. imageimage
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    I'm 17. I can think of about 7 others on the board who are under 21.

    thats cool, Its refreshing to see younger collectors,...when some of us older ppl were younger we didnt have all the diversion options that are avail to youth today, xbox, ipod, dvd , info overload,....ah, Saturday mornings hoofing it up to the coin shop, snagging what ya could, pizza on the way back, boosting a coupla dads Reingolds to wash it down, call it a day...lol.....carry on image

    I was raised to be thankful for what I have, and to work hard to get it. I have never owned a playstation, xbox or whatever or an ipod. I'm a little old fashion, but I can still raze with the best of them. Like you said, they are options, I like to leave my options open image

    Ill be 18 in May.

    Started collecting when I was 8 thanks to my Grandfathers. Im normally at Baltimore in the summer, and a few local shows. Im not much for shows that I cant drive too...just becuase of the costs of travel.
