1970 goya maja desnuda packaging question

I recently purchased a proof 1970 goya maja desnuda 100 pesetas coin in its original packaging. The packaging consists of a red plastic folder with a flip attached that holds the coin. The plastic that the flip is made of is really soft and I am concerned that it may contain PVC. Is anyone familiar with this packaging and can your tell me if it is safe to leave the coin as it is. I assume the coin has been in this packaging for over 35 years and doesn't seem to have damaged the coin yet.

Thanks,
Steve

    Hello skingspan,

In regards to the packaging of your coin, the flip used is made of PVC. If I were you, I would take the coin out of the packaging and place it in a non-PVC type holder or even go as far as to either get an Air-Tite holder or a Capital Plastics hoder. It is a nice coin with a small mintage (by US standards), and there is 5 variations of the coin, all having to do with fineness stamp location. If you have any more questions, please e-mail me.

    Thanks, dorancoins

Give it an acetone bath while you're at it, to make sure all traces of the evil PVC are removed.

Have to agree, and if you want a Full Hair version ...let me know. It's not always the fineness that makes the differenceimage

I have a number of these Equatorial Guinea ladies, including some gold pieces. Tell me more about the different varieties so I can check out what I have.

By the way, I believe this is my first post in the foreign coin forum. Must have had naked women on my mind when I did a search for Goya.image

Right out of the afore-mentioned red case I always thought the toning on this example was funky but better red than green.

Red or green, clean it. "Full Hair" - is that a PCGS designation? I guess SLQ are not much in comparison. I suspect there were very many of these in silver and gold, with hair and without and would not necessarily take stock in published numbers...

Full hair is not a designation, but the only way you will find these in PF-69/68 Ultra cameo NGC, is with a full hair version.

All of my Goya silvers are KM 13.5.

Is there a certain KM# corresponding to the full hair version?

I see NGC grades these ladies, under what country are they listed? Equatorial Guinea is not listed by NGC on their web site.

There is an NGC PF66 listed on ebay for "only" $80. If PCGS/NGC holders make even a PF66 worth nearly $80, perhaps I should submit all 13 of my specimens. Maybe I will get lucky with some higher grades. Any thoughts?
