Those QVC/HSN coin shows get nauseating to me. eg; They try to sell a 2005 mint set but the way the guy talks you'd think he was talking about gold recovered from the Titanic wreckage.

20/20 had a great show on last night about sales pitches and getting people fired up to buy crap they have no intention of buying because they see "Was $289 now $229" plastered next to the item when in reality the item usually retails at the "sale price" or even cheaper at a rival retailer. The people on these coin shows almost hyperventilate talking about the item and it gets people fired up to call in.

The only coin show that is on the tube consistently is called "the Coin Vault" and it is NOT on QVC or HSN. It is on SAH (Shop at Home). It would be interesting to know how many people watch the show on Shop at Home network but "think" they are watching QVC or Home Shoping Network. Robert Chambers and Paul Hollis would be sad. Steve
