Toned Morgan Photo Images - my non-entered images - caution large pics..

My fault for not getting the images to Solid in a timely manner, otherwise I would have been a player in the contest...
I received a pm from Solid in plenty of time however got side tracked as I had to leave out of town for awhile..
None-the-less I would like to share my images of this coin, a coin I really struggled with trying to capture its beauty...
I found a straight on shot of the coin to be rather boring because if the light hit the coin a certian way, the colors really were
intense and came alive.... The trick for me was how to capture that and yet show quality detail throughout the image. It seems
to me, atleast with my imaging attempts, whenever I try to bring out a certian color of a coin I tend to have some dark areas..
Here is a straight up shot of the Obverse:

I thought this image came out well and really captured the look of this coin as seen from a straight overhead perspective...
However, as this coin is rotated in the light, some stunning blues and reds appear.....
This image shot at a slight angle brought out more of the glow of the colors, you can begin to see the blues and reds/oranges I speak of, you will also notice certian areas of the coin begin to get dark because of the angled shot:

In this next image the colors really jump out, I found I had to be at a more extreme amgle and not have the lights directly hitting the coin
to capture the 'glow' of its color..... I am still uncertian as to which of these images is the best one in regards to the images I took, but
this one captured the colors very well, however, the coin has to viewed and rotated at a angle to see the colors such as this. I personally think all three images did a decent job of capturing what this coin looked like, if just depended on the light and the point of view being considered..

Here is my Reverse image, nothing to brag about, the reverse had a touch of some nice rim toning, that was it..

Anyhow, since I was tardy and didn't get my images sent in, I still wanted to share them with you all. This coin wasn't a easy coin to image..
I don't have a tripod, my images are just point and shoot with my Digitial Power Shot Pro 8.1 megapixel Camera.

<< <i>Hands down...Pic #3's gorgeous, just like the photographer.

What bugged me was to bring out that color, the overall image had to be darker.... Again as I didn't have the lights directly shinning on the coin, the lights were at angles as well as me with the camera... I wanted this image a tad more brighter, and when I adjusted the lights and
my angle to make the image brighter, I then lost some of the glow of the color...

<< <i>I don't know if it was mentioned in the initial thread, but what's the grade on this beauty?
