Help for a Newb

Hello all i am just startign to get into coin collecting and have basically no backgorund information in it... i am looking into geting started in collecting ancient roman coins because i have read it is godo to collect something you like...anyways the point of this post is to ask for any advice in geting started...any books to read, certain coins to start with stuff like that...i also would apreiciate knowing some good sites to buy from that you might have used...i am working on a limited budget to start of collecting with around 100usd i know this is not much but it should get me started...any and all help is welcome thanks much,

As I don't collect the ancients with any degree of regularity, I don't know of specific references other than David Sear's series of books about Roman coins. Others with more knowledge will be along and provide more assistance for you.
But you are right about one thing ... collect what you like, and above all, enjoy it

There are numerous books on ancients, I would recommend an over all general book first, then once you know where you want to specialize
you can get books more specific by era. I am not much of an ancient collector, but I do have a dozen or so.
