Dollar Exchange Rate

Did I get a shock when I recently ordered a coin from the UK. When my order translated into dollars, it was almost 20% more than expected. I then checked the exchange rates: 1.7241 dollars to the pound! Holy cow! I did not realize that the dollar had fallen so much. Better hold off on any UK purchases if they can wait!

There was a McCartney song called "The Pound is Sinking" Now it's the dollar dropping like a rock!

Check the US dollar against the Canadian dollar. No more trips for me to the Casino in Niagara Falls, Ont.

The dollar is still ahead of where it was in the early '90's though this may not last much longer.

This move is reflecting the reality that the dollar has lost a lot of value compared to other currencies
and that we have staggeringly huge balance of trade deficits. These moves will help to correct these
problems but will cause some pain to Americans and some very real inflation.

Are you interested in a bunch of current Canadian coin? This stuff is murder
to get back to Canada and I'll need to next year probably. It usually brings
no more than about 90% of exchange rate for the dimes and larger coins. Then
there is the very high cost of mailing it.

Heck, I've got tons of US clad. Can't even trade in it any more with the spread so small. ($1.6 vs. $1.3)

Just spend the coins. Here in Michigan, Canada coins are treated like U.S. coins, cents thru quarters.
The quarters are real easy to spend. If a merchant looks at one funny, you just say that's the new Statehood Quarter for Ontario.

It is too bad for me that most of my debt in U.S. $ had to be paid while it cost me $1.50+ per $1.00. Now that my debt is paid I can buy a yankee $1 for $1.35
So many coins, so little money!
