I got a letter in the mail from Ray on Friday. Man, you should have seen my face when I spied the envelope amongst the junk mail. I nearly knocked my husband over to grab it. I then carefully opened the envelope and proceeded to read it's contents. Here are some highlights of the letter...
Hello my friend, I hope this letter finds you well. I received ypir letter a few days ago and this is the first chance I got to write, and may be the last for a bit.
We lost one of our men the other day. He was sitting in a vehicle and an RPG round came through the roof and hit him in the chest. It just blew him apart. One other guy lost an arm, all together 6 men are out of the battle. We are now preparing to go to this town and conduct house to house clearing, more possibilities of casualties.
I sure do miss home, no talk of redeployment yet, at least two more months before they even consider it. I miss the CU forum very much, thats where most of my friends are.
The remainder of the letter talks about things relating to what I wrote to Ray, so I won't bore you with the details.
