2000-W Millennium MS Silver Eagle

I see PCGS recognizes the Sacagawea from the Millennium Coin and Currency set as a "variety", though they don't label them burnished like some other grading services do. But what about the Silver Eagle in the set? I guess I have to send them in the original packaging, and would hate to have the SAE come back labeled wrong (since PCGS doesn't return packaging). Can't find anything in the pop report or price guide that shows it listed separately. Has anyone here submitted these to PCGS?

  • You dont have to send in the whole folder, just cut a square, leaving it sealed in its plastic. I sent one in this way. The Silver Eagle is not worth grading, unless its at least a 69, it is no different from the rest!

I guess my question is, will PCGS label it "2000 Millennium", or "2000-W MS", and what's the coin number, I can't find it listed (maybe I'm blind today, I dunno)? If it comes back labeled just "2000 SAE", I'm screwed on the coin... and would be better off leaving it in the mint packaging.

PCGS does not note the millennium set for the SAE on their slabs. I believe both NGC and ICG will note it on the slab.
  • NGC denotes Millennium Set on the SAE.
Although PCGS says there is no difference,It states on the package that the SAE was minted in West Point.
NGC also grades the Sac and will,When applicable, give a Proof like designation to it.

I had 4 sets graded by NGC.All graded correctly.
I asked Mr.Hall about it when he first started posting.
He said he would have an answer after he spoke to others in the Co. who had more info on the subject.
    I haven't heard anything since.
