Due to a knee injury its time to say goodbye to the hobby [and my 17 year job]

I'm probably only going to be selling some of my coins and not buying anymore for a long time, but i'll still look at the images posted on dealer websites and at coin auctions. But before i give up my favorite barbers to bill collectors they'll have to pry them from my cold dead hands [lol] Oh yeah, i'll still visit this site to, hopefully, even though i've been struggling with the knee problem for many months, loosing my job yesterday as a result won't take as long as the knee is taking to get headed in the right direction again. I hope to meet some fellow minnesotan's at the Northwest show next month even if i'll just be selling and looking.
The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.

  • Hang in there....did the injury occur at work? If so, you may want to apply for workman's comp and social security. Keep your chin up and
explore your options; there may be more than you think.

I secured disability after a ten year experience with the Navy and the VA. So I know a little bit about the process.

Here's to your recovery! Take care,

Sorry to hear about that, barberlover. I got the axe recently, also, and had to sell of a set of coins I'd hope to complete. Keep working on rehab and keep your mind occupied.

its always darkest before the dawn, and sometimes the clouds hide the sun, but just because you cant see it does not mean it isnt there......the river always has another bend, and tommorow will send you a new ray of sunshine.....image sometimes we have to say farewell ,but never say good-by........for friends are worth more the silver or gold, like dust they too will blow off into the wind, but family and friends and those who care will forever remain at your side.............image stay well.......

Do not give up so quick, you need a resounding spirit to help you to heal faster. This is so overheard but so true, when God closes a window, he opens another one 10 times larger. Keep your eyes peeled as you recover and do not let the "man" keep you down. This is not the ending but a beginning perhaps.

Jobs can be replaced, but it's hard to part with family members. Here's hoping you won't lose any.

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever
  • Knee injuries can be extremely difficult to recover from. I wish you luck.

Don't give up on your collection yet. Changing careers late in the game is certainly not unheard of.
