what coin is your next within reason dream coin purchase?

a coin that you really want but cant seem to find? it is out there within reason and if you found it you would buy it and be overjoyed?

what is this coin??????????????????????????????????????????

it could be a specific coin with a certain look and grade and date and service or just a type coin within a certain grade range!

and no it is not dull a pcgs 64 super high end blast white 1928 peace dollar

that is a desirable undervalued sleeper coin that you will see awaken this year with a good price increase by the end of this year!

wow a grant with star sandblast proof wow well they are out there maybe around 9 known?

that must be one great looking coin! never seen one or heard of one for sale in the last few years!

Half disme and/or 1794 dollar and/or 1849 $20 Territorial Mormon gold piece (the first circulating $20 to come out of the gold rush even beating the $20 Liberty) in low grade but holdered for authenticity. Even tooled or repaired would be OK. I believe the conservation service of NGC will authenticate non-gradable coins. Preferably though at least have VF details regardless of net grade.

Have been dying for an original VF or XF 1896-O for four years now. They retail at the $150-$300 level. Within three days I found two very nice original coins. I have now become a barber Demi-god! Just need to find a nice Micro o and all power will be mine!!

A nice mark free St. Gaudens. I've been looking for a LONG time for at MS66s and most of them just aren't up to the quality that I am looking for. The few that do are priced closer to MS67 than MS66.

TeleTrash is, in my opinion, a dumping ground for overgraded coins and stuff you cannot move sight-seen. Braddick knows well my dislike for their coins and that I would practically never bid in one of their auctions.

The coin I pictured was an ANACS AU Cleaned & Damaged, Net XF.

A PROPERLY graded IHC 1877 PCGS MS65R. These seem to get the benifit of the doubt and most of the 65R's are 64's. I'd take Stewarts 66R!!!

Most of the coins I most desire are either drifting out of reach because of price
or all known examples are in strong hands. So I'll probably end up with a no-S
proof next. There are still lots of great coins out there!

Realistic hopes: a decent AU 1914-D wheat cent; a decent AU 1909-SVDB wheat cent; and very nice low MS (e.g. MS62) 1934-S Peace Dollar.

Long term hope (sigh): a 1907 high relief $20 saint.........

I'm finding capped head to left half eagles (1813-1829) really tough to locate

in fact, I almost never see one offered. the few times, they are VERY expensive.

I would love to find a nice VF/XF in a P or N holder, would need to be a more "common" date than the 1822.

A draped bust Half-eagle in AU. I love the symmetry of an AU/AU coin.

Also, the bust is my favorite for a US coin.

thanks agfox! the owner of this 1860 halfdime got lucky a few years ago! being in the right place at the right time

one specialist large coin dealer/former grader told me after seeing this coin before it was graded that this coin was the best halfdime he has ever seen in terms of eyeappeal/toning

and this coin is much better sight seen in person the scan barely does justice to the coin.

currently the coin is the first and ONLY star mintstate halfdime of the 1860 to 1873 legend obverse series!

this collector that has the halfdime also had a seated dime and an early commem that both got the star
also three in a row!!!!!!!! both seated dime and early commem got 67 star

and the specialist as per the above said the seated dime was one of the best/if not the best he also has seen in terms
of toning/eye appeal ditto for the early commem!

the coins are out there!!!!!!!!!!

I don't ask for much. I'd like a nice XF/AU twenty cent piece--not white, not cleaned, with strong head detail and LIBERTY. Peripheral NON-monster toning from an album would be nice, as would an 1875 rather than an 1875-S, but neither is mandatory. Hopefully one will fall into my lap soon.

heh berylcoin, if such a doubledime "falls in your lap" from an auction, you will have to outbid probably a dozen type coin collectors who also desire such a piece. I myself am in the market for just such a coin, and apparently the price guides I'm using are out of date, because i keep getting outbid

come to think of it, the same is true for lots of problem free mid grade type.

It will take me a while but i'm seaching for a raw AG (no date) 1916 SLQ priced as a 1917 T1. I know they are out there a member of my coin club just purchased a roll of no date SLQ's and found one.
