Turnaround times have been all over the map (mostly slow, though). Recently somebody had one that took 58 days, the same week somebody else posted one that took 22 days; both economy submissions. My last one was 45 days.
I sent a 1877/6 in a old rattler holder on 12/3/02. Its a 63 looking for a better holder and an upgrade would not be bad. Have still not heard about it yet.
I assume they've been received and not lost in the mail??
"My friends who see my collection sometimes ask what something costs. I tell them and they are in awe at my stupidity." (Baccaruda, 12/03).I find it hard to believe that he (Trump) rushed to some hotel to meet girls of loose morals, although ours are undoubtedly the best in the world. (Putin 1/17) Gone but not forgotten. IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose.
I wonder how much of the problem is the programming that prioritizes the orders to be processed. I bet it's not designed to clear out outstanding orders well. I also wonder how much the receiving room influences things. They could easily place submissions in a place where it's likely to be processed sooner than later.
Gosh. And I was kind of hoping that I'd have a 'registered letter note' in my mailbox after work, for a crossover I sent to NGC two weeks ago today. I guess I better stop hoping.
Maybe they fired the person(s) that were putting fingerprints and the like on coins and are having a hard time finding help. I know I could'nt work for PCGS, what give up all my coins are you crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man guys. Why is everyone so harsh. David hall said they are working on the response times. If PCGS is so bad and everyone is complaining, then stop submitting. This obviously isn't happening.

No that person is still alive and well and gainfully employed by PCGS. He/she was able to fingerprint 2 of my coins recently. 1 a 1943 DDO (Double eye) Jefferson in MS65 and the other a superbly PQ+++ MS66RD 1958 Lincoln. I appreciate the Lincoln, its always nice when you get a coin that should be a grade higher and worth about $1000 returned worth about face value.
1/14 still waiting,I sent about 200 coins in at the same time,I asked them to ship all of them back at once to save me some shipping..Forget it ,I received some ,and the rest they still have. Not to mention that I overpaid them on my last submission,,and asked them to deduct it from my last submission..Forget that also.
kieferscoins I think your off base on that comment, any business providing a service should be consistent,if not do something about it ,if they cant/will not hire more graders than compensate the submitter. They have no problem taking my money .Bottom line is ,I pay for a service, and that's what I expect=service.Al
This whole thread is just depressing. I have a couple orders in since 1/21 and 1/23. I have been jonesing to get them back, but by the sounds of it, I still have a substantial wait. Crap.
Honestly, Cameron, if a customer is unhappy, then he (or she) is entitled to complain. There is nothing illegit about complaining about slow service or bad service.
Of course, if the service provider does something nicer than expected, then it would be fair to note that as well. I think the typical forum member is even-handed in that regard. Just meeting response times, however, is not cause for celebration!

<< <i>How come nobody from PCGS can explain the wildly different turnaround times for the same service? >>
They're too busy in the backrooms dipping off fingerprints and cutting checks for overgraded/problem coins.

LOL
kiefer: I hate to bash PCGS, but they need to hire more people or maybe some interns to help them out.
