Pending war, Surging Inflation, volatile Gold: Effect on "collector" prices

To buy or to sell, that is the questioin?
I may have to part with a few item (for $ reasons) but may buy in the near future. I don't know how volatile the collector market is for the
following:
type gold
toned gold (yes, I have 2 items)
toned silver (especially "premium" morgan and peace dollars)
cc gold
any input? what is the best way to know what the "right price" is at any given time?
thanks as always,
Barney
