I just got my packet of materials from NGC. What was the turnaround time?

They posted a while ago on the message board there that they are currently exceeding turnaround times. I haven't got my packet from them yet.
  • The latest I've heard, turnaround time for economy is currently around 21 days. Less then half the time of PCGS.

  • Way to go!!!
Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
  • They hit 21 days on the nose. Shipped out last tuesday. One plus about them too is that their customer service has always been excellent. On the minus side, I haven't been able to get it so that I can see my submissions online, plus they don't email you when your order is ready - you just have to kinda guess.

Hey, I just noticed there's a little pamphlet in with the materials titled " Understanding No Grade Coins". It's pretty good reading.

  • I havent had problems with slow turnaround with PCGS, but even if I did, it would be worth the wait!

I'm glad that you're a satisfied customer, but don't you think it's somewhat impolite to be preaching your politics in a relatively politics-neutral thread? It' not like Frank was casting aspersions at any other service...

Gee Wall'man - I didn't realize you were supporting this site all by yourself! Nor did I realize I was the COMPETITION! LOL

I like to post both types of submissions to talk about the coins, the grades, and the turnaround time - don't want us to turn into some sort of totalitarian coin state do you? image

Frank, Good going regarding those Morgans. Nice little run there.

Wallstreetman- the cool deal with PCGS is they not only condone but encourage coin talk covering ALL subjects, including how well the competition is doing, or not doing.

NGC's site offers the same benefit and latitude.

  • NGC is the COMPETITION, if people leave PCGS and go to NGC, then the people left will foot the bill(ie..grading fees going up). I dont see anyone donating money for this site, I could be wrong!

Is that because you(like the rest of us), have no great PCGS submissions to "brag about"?

I recieved a bill from PCGS recently, seems I owe them the difference from when I submitted my modern coins eons ago and when they finally arrived, now they are CLASSICS!imageimageimage
A dealer once asked me if I noticed any three-legged buffalos on the bourse,to which I replied,"...no,but I saw alot of two-legged jackasses..."

Is ACG considered by any to be competition?

  • Lucy - I think ACG just sends you the slab and you put what grade you feel like on it. image

Makes for very quick turnaround times.

Pennies make dollars, and dollars make slabs!

....inflation must be kicking in again this dollar says spend by Dec. 31 2004!

    David:

PCGS provides one opinion, NGC provides another opinion. I don't think too many people in here own exclusively NGC or PCGS coins. I happen to own both types and am very pleased with both services for the services that I look to them to provide. Just because I may talk about one service or another on here doesn't mean that I favor one over the other. Both are good, and provide worthwhile advantages in their own rite. So to me, it's better to be able to compare and contrast than to rely entirely on one service and live or die with it.

    As for Ms. Bop's comment....

I am thinking the 2 month, 50 coin at $3.50 for ACG - what are the chances I would not get my coins back - ever?

    Frank,

That made far too much sense.
