Should G-4, VG-8, F-12, ... MS XY be eliminated?

It seems to me that the numerical value says it all, except for whether the coin is a circulation strike or a proof. Thus I would argue that G-4 is redundant (i.e. a 4 indicates "Good") and therefore, the nomenclature should be reduced to CS-XY and PR-XY for Circulation Strike and Proof respectively. Thus no one could claim to have a VF-25 1895 Morgan dollar (which is what an eBay seller is currently claiming).

Anyone who is actually thinking about buying a 1895 Morgan dollar knows that they are all proof, so would naturally think that any coin in VF-25 really is a PR-25. In this case, I don't think any person would really confuse the two.

Just for the record, I contacted the seller of the 1895 Morgan and he said it was a VF25 and not a PR25 (I don't think he's confused, just dishonest).
