Do you think eBay makes more money from coins that don't sell?

I don't know whether it's due to ignorance or just greed, but there seem to be a huge number of auctions which never get a bite because the opening bid is unrealistically high. I wonder if eBays "bread and butter" is the listing fees these auctions generate.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
Just listed a used car for $40 - it's amazing the fees generated from used cars - another $40 if/when it sells. It's a bargain compared to the local want ads. If ebay gets serious about real estate, watch out!!!

More than 50 separate sets of real estate sales licensing laws in the U.S. alone cramp their style, or they would indeed get serious.
