My first major deal.

Visited my local shop today, Had some free time, So I hung around for a while, The owner doesn't mind and asks me to help out every once in awhile. While there I mentioned that I really needed some inventory for my ebay auctions and was kinda shocked to have him mention that he would sell me a "lot" of Morgans, but I would have to take the whole box. No digging, take em all. I spent about 40 minutes going over the lot,

Out of 77 Morgans ANACS MS63's, three are crackout MS64 DMPLS, 4 toned, 1 Rainbow toned & 2 crack out MS65's and the rest are graded right on. Plus he gave some great deals on 7 PCGS Morgans. I ended up trading him 2, MS65 Morgans CC's and 1 MS66 CC and the rest in cash. My final price is about $22.00 each, not bad, It was so much fun!

  • Wow. $22 each is a great deal, and you got enough to sell some for a while on ebay. Good luck.

Congrats - but the fun is over. Now comes the work!

  • For me, this is what it's all about. Doing something that I have a real passion for and making some cash at the same time....Now the fun part of scanning evertything. I'll have the PCGS coins and all the toned ones along with maybe 15 or 20 others listed tonigh. Along with a bunch of cows (another story)

Maddox, who is exactly going to run the auction, you...........our your little dog.

Gosh, I hope his name isnt Toto.image
There once was a place called
    Camelotimage
  • His name is "YoYo" cause he won't stop bouncing up and down, he kinda counter balances our cat "Lump". He doesn't have time to manage the auctions, much to busy destroying cumputer cables. image

Wow! A great deal. Good luck with them.
  • Maddox -- well done!!

I must agree: one of the greatest pleasures of our hobby is the fun of sorting through a big batch of something. I bought like 2/3 of a friend's collection last summer, and he had a lot of Morgans -- not 77, but a heap -- I had loads of fun looking them up in the VAM book (as most were in mid grades).

On pet names: my wife's friend in high school had a cat named 'MOAF'. It stood for "Mind Of A Fly"

Best pet name I ever heard of. By far.

See? There's actually more to collecting than getting flamed on this board and worrying about AT, coin doctors, rogue dealers and the like. Collecting and wheeling & dealing can be fun. image

I wish my desk was so organized!
It sounds like you're in for a blast sorting through and listing those Morgans on eBay. The blessing is most of the work of submitting is done for you! Good luck on those ANACS crack-outs and resubmits.
