yes, and it's the same market as the market for such coins unslabbed.

I have a hard time seeing what value is added by slabbing "ordinary" coins

rare, oft-counterfeited dates, sure, ultra high condition, of course.

but ordinary coins? I bust em out and put em in albums anyway, if they're slabbed, and usually buy em raw.

if somene feels the need to pay 15-30 dollars for a holder and an opinion of a mid grade circulated coin, maybe they should buy a book, and a few nice coin world slabs.

  • I've bought a few slabbed EF and AU Morgans lately because the price was right ( I probably would've had to pay close to the same price raw), the coins were attractive, and knowing I was getting "the real deal" was added benefit.

Nearly any Barber coin and most of the better date SLQs and IHCs are very liquid in the mid-range circulated grades. I think that these coins are undervalued in relation to their scarcity if you are looking for original, problem free pieces. They are also very likely to be encountered raw so do not fear a raw coin from these series in these grades. They are wonderful coins to own with exceptionally little downside.

dude, no question about it. in fact, despite all the media attention provide to the double-whammy blast-white pop-top coins - i still think the huge majority of coins bought & sold are "average" coins for people of ordinary means.

  • Sure there is just see what I collect.

  • nice A.U. has always done me well. both to buy & sell. have only
dabbled with type & silver comms. coins that most folks can afford
