Seated Liberty Half Dollar 1833???

I am somewhat new to the hobby and have found this forum extremely helpful. Thank you for the great information. I have not posted until now, but could no longer contain my curiosity about a coin I possess. I have included the picture, and the date looks to be 1833, which given the coin was not minted until 6 years later cannot be accurate. Can anyone tell me what date this coin really is? Thank you in advance.

Welcome. Unfortunately, the image you posted is not of a genuine mint product - sorry.

IMO, a counterfeit coin, but not without collectible value, as it appears to be an interesting and possibly old forgery. I've seen similar (in quality, not appearance) bring $10-100 in eBay auctions.

Edited: see? you already have an offer.. by the way, welcome to the board

welcome to the board. thats pretty cool the seated liberty with the arrows around the date (variety 3) was minted from 1853 to 1855, in 1833 the half dime was cap bust.

A very cool coin. To me, it looks like a contemporary counterfeit, made sometime after 1836. It does have value, maybe even more than an original. Even I am interested in buying it.

    Welcome to the boards.

From the obverse we can deduce that it was made no earlier than 1853 since the arrows at the date were added at that time. I also agree that it looks like it could be a contemporary counterfeit and think it's cool.
