  • Adrian- Why don't you start by telling us which jewels you are going after? Inquiring minds would like to know.

I think all the toned dollars in the Heritage Signature auction are AT. Please stay away. I will try to get them and then let everyone know if they are real or not.image

  • You asked for it. Here are lots i personally inspected and thought were eye appealing coins:

    6800
    6756
    6762
    6766
    6722
    6724
    6745
    7787
    7795
    7923
    7933
    7877
    7881
    7836
    7839
    7858
    7859
    7862
    7870
    7811
    7832
    7771
    8792
    8796
    8800
    8029
    8028
    8040
    8848
    8850
    8858
    8868
    8871
    8877
    8891
    8893
    8907
    8917
    8991
    9002
    9011
    9019
    9033
    9053

(Just because it's not on my list doesn't mean it's not eye-appealing, and just because it's on the list doesn't mean that i'm going after it; it's just what i said it was, a list of coins that i thought were eye-appealing; finally, i didn't look at all the lots.)

  • I love to see when someone posts what they like coming up at auction. It helps me appreciate coins which I may not normally look at or a series I dont collect I can maybe better uunderstand. Just because they like it does not mean I too will bid on it.

Those who give the line "I can't disclose for confidentiality reasons" are so lame. Remember a room full of bids will see your bid along with plenty of those online.

BTW, I am not bidding on this auction.

I just want to see PR70DCAM proofs go for REAL STUPID MONEY!!!! )Only because I have a few up for auction...image
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • after printing out my watch list and not seeing a single one on Adrians list makes me feel a LITTLE better. Maybe I will have a SHOT and getting a few from my list!

What Adrian, no toned Morgans? Or is this a dummy list? LOL BTW, I've owned many if not most of the toned Morgans in this sale and almost all look better than the pics indicate.
  • I'd go after some of the toners against jbsteven and toneddollars, but I'm afraid I'd lose the bankroll battle...so many coins, so little cash...image
  • PAIGOW.....

the person to watch out for on the toned dollars is GSAGUY! I think I am going to get a hooker to occupy him for that time of the auction. If the hooker thing does not work hopefully a expensive bottle of liquor might work. If all else fails then I will just beg him to not buy it all!

  • I actually didn't look at any toned Morgans in the Heritage sale - i have quite a few that have never been listed so I'm not really hunting those up right now, however, if someone wanted to direct me to the five best.....

    jbsteven,

The only thing that will work is if you tie him down, and even then I think he would make it some howimage
  • I looked at four lots that Adrian looked at, as well as 15 others that he did not seek out. I have an active bid on one piece, so I won't say which ones we share in common.

Non-bidding stuff I looked at were:

4 MS-65RD Indian Cents (all had more carbon than suits me, two were photo-sealed)
1 Reeded Edge Half (nice, but won't focus on it)
1796 No Stars $2.50, 1795 $5, and 1795 $10 (all cleaned at one point, one has had some work, all slabbed by PCGS, wanted to see them just because)
Some colorfully toned commems that piqued my curiousity

  • I don't have any extra dough to blow on my habbit this month, but after looking at the coins in the upcoming auction in long beach i really don't see anything that really knocked my socks off.
The President claims he didn't lie about taxes for those earning less then $250,000 a year with public mandated health insurance yet his own justice department has said they will use the right of the government to tax when the states appeals go to court.
  • There were some seated Liberty dimes/Proofs that I liked. I've been up-grading my $2 1/2 set and need to save my money for that $2 1/2 1911 D if it shows.

I do like your taste in coins Adrian!
