How about "A" coins, not "AT"

One of my biggest concerns as a small cent collector are the coins that have been altered rather than AT'd. There are alot of copper coins that have had spots scraped off with the remainder of the surface unaltered. They are as altered as AT coins!image Yet, since the graders look at them for 10 seconds at arms length, they are market graded.

Can you give other examples?? Is this as important as AT coins?? Should the new AT police be on guard for this too??

  • With a steady hand and a small tipped dental tool, it is easy to remove a speck or a small spot from copper. PCGS will usually not catch it. imageimage

Doc, I hope you notice the wink. I'm just kidding with you.
