What is this tag?

I would like your input on what this tag is or could be. I found it on the shores of Lake Michigan in South Eastern Wisconsin. I have an idea, but I don't want to influence or implant ideas.

Looks like it says BRINKS. Looks old. How long has Brinks Security been around? Did they ever use and type of seal attached to a wire on their coin bags? ?????

That is one posibility. It is hard to tell if there is an S.

I would think if it was a Brinks seal, it would have a number on it. The only thing you can see for sure is BRINK. It seem to be copper. Color is very similar to a large cent.

For what it's worth, the spacing of the letters is correct for the entire word "BRINKS" even though the "S" is pitted away. I can imagine the "S" in its place and can see the lower half, but it takes some imagination.

  • You can certainly see the "BRINK". Based upon the character spacing, there should be one more character. BRINKS seems reasonable.

    DB Cooper loot perhaps?
