Here are 5 coins from my FS Jefferson collection. The first is a very prooflike 1985-D Jefferson. ANACS grades it an MS65FS. The second pic is a 1980-P ANACS 65FS Both coins are from the Jim Ragsdale FS collection.

The 3rd pic is a cresent toned 1976, also an ANACS 65FS.

Next one is a 1965 business strike with steps, it's been graded an ANACS 66 despite it's weak strike.

And the last is a frosted, prooflike 1964-D Jefferson

Well, that's all for now, enjoy the pics.

Thanks, Leo

Real nice, I'm hoping to have some myself if PCGS will grade them!!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • Leo, they are some beautiful coins. Seems the Jeffs tone earlier than other coins.

Drool is a great thing to clean your moniter with, isn't it......and it's for sale, sorry.
Don't see too many nickels with a cresent toning. Got it through TT. Wish I knew
    who previously owned it.

    Thanks Carl

That first one is astounding! I'm not familiar with how many steps are required for the FS designation at ANACS, so, please forgive this basic question, but, do they give it for 5 steps, 6 steps, 5.5 steps or does it depend on the year/hubbing?

ANACS uses all three. I know how the 5.5 got started but that's a long story.
