Odd E-Bay Auction Ending

I was watching this auction, waiting to place a bid of $251.67 when there were a few seconds left. After 28 seconds, the time remaining changed to 1 hour 0+ minutes.... I kept hitting refresh, then it said auction ended. Another bidder had bid, but his max was $3 below my planned bid--that I never placed. That bites, I would have won if it didn't do that.

ebay is having "gremlins" tonight....

I watched another aution end... once below 1 minute, it intermittently changed from actual to 1 hr 0 + min. Here's a screen capture.
