Do you remembers does old times.......Your FIRST COIN?

I remember that my motivation for collecting was the Liberty Walking I found in a garage sale. it was a 1942-S AU....I was so excited to have an old coin, I was eight years old. It wasn't a key date, but when I knew it was from silver it got me so motivated to learn more about them that I started Collecting coins.


Do you remember your first coin?... The one that motivated you to collect coins???

it doesn't have to be a key date or something..just the one that caught you into this,

I started with Mercs out of my uncles coke machine at his Sunoco station!

I started by picking through my dad's change bag every day when he would come home from work. He was a milkman and he would have perhaps $20 in change every night to look through. It seemed like a treasure trove to me back then.

My first "coin" that I bought was a 1982 Hungarian mint set bought at the world's fair in Knoxville. I don't have it now, so don't what happened to it. Probably still worth $2...

My first was a '41D Mercury, probably VF. Thereafter, lots of Mercs and silver Washingtons. I even branched out into silver Roosies in my earlier collecting life (I'm now working my way backwards with 69DC silvers on the Washingtons and Roosies).

Old times? Well, I like where I am in my life now, better than then...
