Purchases in Pelham

Only Dahlonega coin I saw for sale was a 49-D G$1 soldered on the reverse so I passed. But bought a really nice VF/XF 23-S quarter raw still in an old Jack Beymer holder from many years ago, a choice original roll of 51-P and 51-D quarters and finally a counterfeit 50-D quarter eagle paid $200 to get off the floor and into my teaching collection. I've seen very few Dahlonega counterfeits and can't remember seeing a fake Dahlonega quarter eagle. Lots of irons still in the fire maybe some 'goodies' will turn up tomorrow. All in all an amazingly fun and productive small show well attended by the public. Best of all met some of our board members amazed at how nice and sharp they are...as an old curmudgeon I was really impressed.

  • It was truly a pleasure meeting you again and having you show me some of the beauties in your collection. I noticed you spent far too much time with "fivecents" while I held down the fort - Tomorrow I demand equal time! image

Your coins are truly fantastic and I'm looking forward to drooling all over your cabinets again!

    Best regards,

    Hi Frank,

It was nice to see and chat with you again at the show today. My nephew had a lot of fun. It "cost" him only $10 to have fun to add to his 20th Century collection to fill holes in that whitman folder, but it "cost" me over $100 to "have fun". Picked up a lovely looking VF SLQ 1917-T1 and an XF 1833 half cent to add to my type set. For such a small show (about 25 dealers), it was pretty nice.
