Probaby for the Darksiders-- A Small Purchase From A Small Show

Went to a very small coin show in Issaquah, WA today. Not much there for me, but I came across this coin. I always like to pick up a little something as a keepsake of any coin show. I really like this coin, and you know what?-- I don't know a thing about it. I usually try to know what I'm getting into with a coin. But, this was the purest of purchases-- an inexpensive coin that just said "Take me home." I have confessed my ignorance, and now I would really appreciate it if one of you forum members could give me just a brief heads up on what it is I am now the proud owner of. BTW it is graded 65 by NGC. For those who care about that stuff.

Well, its about time man. Welcome to the darkside young jedi! I have a few of these in very high grade nicely toned. I love Macarthur and Philippine coinage in general and also coins from the Kingdom
of Hawaii. These are tough in MS67.
An interesting area of collecting is coins struck for what I call "Imperial America", ie Philippines, Hawaii, Cuba , etc. I think its a fascinating part of our numismatic history.

I got there about 11:00. I saw you talking to a dealer. I started looking at some coins, and the next thing I know I turned around and you had left the building. I thought you had seen me and made a run for it.
I was disappointed I didn't get a chance to say hello. Oh well, you say we have a big show coming up in April, right? I'm sure I will see you there.
Saw the coins you bought in your thread. Very nice. Isn't it kind of fun just to hit these small shows and make a few purchases of things that aren't really on the radar screen?
