I have never seen anything like it and believe it is a game counter or play money. It is NOT a pattern.

Come on folks - based on his feedback you have a 95% chance of being happy. People throw away money in Vegas with odds worse than that..... If you keep the coins to yourself and never show them around, you can kid yourself into thinking you really scored.

I asked the seller which dealers determined these to be patterns. Seller advised me that the items were determined to be patterns by Bill Coleman of Colemans Coins of Florida, at a "F.U.N. Show" in Florida about 4 years ago, and by J.T. Stanton at his booth at a show in New York City in 2001.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
