I'd be looking in the 62-63 range on both.
    I collect circulated U.S. silver
  • MS 64 RB on both. Great coins. Good luck!

Just guessing but I would say:

    1911 MS65RD PQ shot MS66RD

    1916-D MS65RD

    I'd say the 1911 is MS65RD and the 1916 is MS63RD

    Good luck

Impossible to grade from the images, not enough light in the important areas, and not enough contrast.

Pretty good chance they are both uncirculated, but the 16D doesn't appear to be original, and what's that "thing" on the rim at 9 o'clock? Looks like a heavy hit.

  • Rella, I sure hope you are right.

Funny (not really funny if you think about it) story on the 1911. The coin is my dad's, it was in a PCGS MS66RD holder, he bought it from a guy up north...anyway, on his travels he left the coin with a dealer accidentally image Well when he had a chance to go back, a couple of months later, my dad goes in the shop and sees the coin raw in a 2x2 and priced for $100. My dad says hey, I left that coin here last time, what happened...the guy supposedly cries ignorance, "Oh, I didn't know it was yours, I thought I bought it, and misplaced it then found it again...blah, blah, blah...anyway, my dad asks him why in the world did he crack it out of the holder, and they guy says oh, "I don't like PCGS, so I cracked it out." Yeah right, imho the guy tried to gank it from my dad, and cracked it to conceal that he had it. Anyway, it looks like a very nice coin, except there are some very minute microscopic tics (about five) above the date, my dad knows they weren't there before, so the guy must have mishandled it. I still think the coin is a 66rd, but without those little marks, the coin is a shot 67rd. Oh well.

the 16d was in an old PCGS MS64RB holder, I think the coin looks red to me...color on pic does look a little weird, not sure why the pic came out that way.
