This gal has 41 negatives and 48 neutrals.Link This disgruntled seller had a unique way of showing how he felt in his feedback. I wouldn't recommend this sort of language, but obviously he was upset.link2
it doesnt seem that ebay really cares, i have seen people with 250 300 negs. ebay collects thier fee, thats all they care about but sooner or later it will come back to haunt them mean while so many people are getting screwed
The number of dissatisfied customers does not matter as long as the seller continues to pay for thier auctions (esp. with powersellers!). the ratio of positive to negative also matters - for example, a person could have 250 negatives, but if they have 10,000 positives, they are doing pretty darn good!

Actually I think it goes by your rating number, I beleive minus -4 is the number which will get you suspended. So if you have 1000 pos you have to get over 1000 negs before they will boot you, a joke if you ask me.
Another reason why buying ONLY slabbed coins on E-bay makes sense for me. My grading skills are flawed but this lady obviously overgrades everything and her buyers continue to buy them.
I don't know about you but I don't have time to buy, review the item, and ship it back. Buying raw on Ebay, unless you know the seller personally, makes no sense.
I've dealt with this guy before. Not the most courteous fella out there, rather snobby too. Judging from the pix in his auctions, his wares are consistently overgraded and many are cleaned.
yet this number is based on over THREE THOUSAND responses...and I am sure he has thousands others who never bothered to respond...is it that bad? I dont think its that bad...sure like his responses!
Jon, interesting point of view, but this sellers negs all seem to stem from the same problem, vastly overgrading. My guess is that there are many more buyers of the coins that just didn't either respond or are more concerned with not getting negative feedback from this seller. This is the flaw in the system. Sometimes the amount of the neutrals is more important from that perspective. You seem to imply that given the right amount of volume some negatives will appear. I suppose from a statistical analysis that might be something to think about. This seller has a number of very recent negs and mostly for the same reason. I have seen other sellers with this kind of volume that have no or very few negs.
There are sellers on Ebay that I have purchased raw coins from and have not been disappointed. It is a given that most of us think higher of our coins than others including do, especially the graders.
I have found coins on eBay that I have never seen in any dealer's store in 30 years. Of course I have my own opinion on grading, which counts about 95% towards a purchase. The other 5% is NOT someone else's grading opinion, it's how bad I want the item. If the coin is something I haven't seen in 30 years in any coin shop, it may be worth double bid to me. Therefore, even if the seller is overgrading and hyping their coin, I MIGHT think the coin is a bargain anyway.
Feedback negatives are for other eBay users, eBay never bothers reading them, ever. eBay boots users based on justifiable complaints filed with Safe Harbor investigations.
What did he think he was going to receive? Look at the picture!!!
I have often bought coins on eBay that were overgraded by the seller. But I bid on them based on MY estimation of the grade. Does the seller deserve a negative because he overgraded in his auction? Not in my opinion. I bought the coin knowing he overgraded.
Papier11 sells lotsa videos - $1.99 start and combines shipping - I remember buying 5 or 6, and I am sure they didn't bother shipping because of time it would have taken to find.
In the last 6 months their feedback is 72139 positives, 194 neutrals, 150 negatives - maybe they have a few thousand negatives over the past few years - but ovwer the last 6 months eBay has probably made over 50K from them - I don't think they will try to hard to shut them down.
While trying to view 'papier11' feedback comments, I'm reminded how difficult it is to locate specific comments. Sure would be nice if you could just view the negs or neutrals and not have to read thousands of comments to find them.

delaney91101 (second seller Mike linked) is supposed to be a reincarnation of a previous seller that apparently ripped people off to the tune of $50k or so. I won an auction from him before I found that out, and feel lucky that I got my coins.
He was also a dick. After two weeks and no coins, I eMailed and asked if they'd been shipped. His response "I'll need your full name and address or I can't look it up". I guess he didn't read my eMail since that, the auction number and the item details were all in it. Didn't hear back, but about a week after that the coins showed up.
...........and what i think is funny about the delaney negatives is that their are 41 of them from 28 people. that means there are some gluttons for punishment that came back for more!!!
i'd almost bet some idiot went around three times.
Ebay still has good sellers, and buying raw can be done quite easily with discipline

Mike: E-Bay is not going to go anything about her.She could have 4000 POS and 2000 NEGS and she will be on forever. As far as E-Bay is concerned it's the sales and not the feedback that keeps her on.We have to blame the people who bid on her items also. Some people may think that 49negs and 28 neutrals are not bad for all the business she does.

However look at this auction. This buyer left a negative feedback because the coin was overgraded.
