Why would you ever consign to Superior??

It's amazing to me in this day and age that 11 days before a major auction your on-line catalog is STILL not available! Why in the world would anyone consign to these guys?? They still have the consignment deadline on their auction page of January 15!!!image

Would anyone here admit to seriously considering these folks when selling?? Why??

The last catalog arrived pretty close to the auction, too. I've only bought once from them, and it was an easy transaction with quick shipment. The turbulence at B&M may help them...

I don't think internet bidders are their top priority. They are probably torn, where they drool over the increased exposure/bidding the internet can provide, but cry with the potential returns etc. Oh yes, they don't offer returns. image
    I'm not a Superior fan.

  • Why would anyone consign to B&M as well? They booted Dave Bowers out of his office and they've lost their key consignment expert, plus they lost Beth Piper in the auction department too, someone who has been there a long time I believe. I think our hobby has been hurt by the Collectors Universe "universe". Yeah, its nice to come to these message boards and read about our hobby but usually when there are big companies like wal-mart, etc, the prices on things are a little cheaper. I've seen no benefit to our hobby having the various companies under the CU roof. What I'd like to see is a small company started up where the collector is "king" and the stock holders take a back seat to the hobby.

Is there any doubt that Heritage is the reigning king of coin auctions, online or otherwise? Who even goes to other sites anymore?
