My grades in bold. I've been working to try and become 100% accurate in my grading. I keep coming close, but I still can't get there - usually have some off by a point up or down. It's frustrating coming close, but never getting there. Does anybody ever hit 100%?

The Frankie was a WAG. It has some hairlines, apparently enough to keep it at 64. I didn't think there was snowball's chance it would do DCAM, though.

I don't know what happened on the second Accented Hair, but I'll bet I missed some hairlines. That's what puts these in a 64 holder. I've gotten pretty good at spotting them, but it looks like I blew it on this one. I'll be checking that one closely when it gets back.

Not bad, when are we going to see a PR69DCAM AH out of you??? Also, what do you do with the 65s??
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

As i said in a earlier thread, Deep mirrors and a black and white contrast...... Gotta give PCGs to many reasons for the designation...

If it were me, I'd prefer the lower graded DCAM.

When you consistently get to 100% I will personally fly to Washington and bow down to you as the God of grading. I'll even shave my head, wear a robe and chant "Russ is a God, Russ is a God!!!!"

  • Nice Russ.. seems you were way off only on one of them, but yer derned close on the rest. Grats on that DCAM.. bet she's a beaut.

    Jay,

I know I'm probably being unrealistic, but I'd like to hit it just once, than I'd be happy (well, maybeimage).

Betcha if you cracked them all out and resubmitted them, some of the grades would come back different.
  • RussRuss Posts: 48,514 ✭✭✭
    clw54,

You are, of course, correct. I don't even have to bet; been there, done that, and they do. I should know better.

  • Hi Russ. You know, it is entirely possible that YOUR grades are the correct ones! Certified grades are not necessarily always correct. I have a number of half dimes in slabs that I KNOW are undergraded - some of them grossly undergraded (and some that are overgraded too). You know the Kennedy Series well Russ, and if you have been as focused on your grading them as you mentioned, then you should be comfortable in trusting your own grading judgment too. If the numerous grading services were ALWAYS correct in their grading, then there would be no such thing as the "crack out game." image

Seems like that is just over ½ point variance, even with the 4 point whopper. That'll do.image

I'd say you did a remarkable job save for the problem coin. The ones you were a point off on, some you were high, and some you were low. Can't do any better than that. If you can figureout what happened on the problem coin, I'd say you did great as far as getting grading feedback.

    Greg,

I'm sure it's hairlines, that's what it always is when I blow one this badly. With PCGS, you can have a big 'ol fat milk spot, and still squeeze out a 66, but have more than a couple hairlines and whamo! You're in a 64 holder.

Wait a friggin' minute! I just realized the data entry drone punched them in out of order! The cert numbers sequentially match the order they appear on the invoice. Here's the real deal in correct order:
