Toning ASE's

Is this the type of holder that toning comes from?

I think it can come from those... given the right conditions, of which I don't know...

The only one where I am pretty sure of the toning source was a holder that had a foam pad in which the coin was placed... fingerprinted to death, but the coin does look really cool image

  • I saw a group of IKE's that had been stored in holders like this. They had ALL toned beautifully; very reminiscent of Wayte Raymond toning.

These are very conducive to toning. I have seen many toned specimens
    in these holders.

Does anyone know how long silver has to be in a cardboard holder such as this before you get some nice rim toneing? How many years about.
  • You mean like this one?

I'm sorry fellows, I just don't see how the pricing on some of the color coins can be justified. I mean no disrespect to the seller. image

Yes, I have a couple of coins in those holders... were bright white when received... now lightly toned.
