with the trade deadline 25 days away, eddie jones seems destined to be a bull!!

With All-Star Weekend approaching, the Bulls are five-games back of Washington for the final playoff spot in the East.
Rick Brunson has come off the injured list ready to go. In his first three games as a Bull, Brunson has averaged 13.0 points and 6.7 assists, with only two turnovers and four steals. He is exactly the kind of veteran point guard this team needs to compliment a developing young general. Question is, who is that young general for the Bulls? When Jay Williams returns from the injured list, things will get awfully difficult for Bill Cartwright, who needs to keep Brunson around if he wants to convince his veterans that he is committed to winning. Brunson has only further pressed the burning point guard issue. Either Williams or Jamal Crawford must be dealt by the trade deadline, or GM Jerry Krause is risking stunting the growth of both players. Tough times call for tough decisions to be made, it is time for Krause to make one.
I still maintian that the best move the Bulls could make would be to acquire Heat SG Eddie Jones. Jones is on the block, the Bulls are interested, and yes, that was Eddie showing much love to Jerry Krause (say what?) in the paper just last week, referring to Krause as "my guy". Truth is, unlike the summer of 2000, when Jones desperately wanted to return home to South Florida (where he starred at Ely High School in Pompano Beach) the Bulls situation now clearly seems the better fit. The Heat are rebuilding since the loss of Alonzo Mourning, and Jones' mammoth contract does not make things very easy. They want young players, draft picks, and cap room so that Pat Riley can start from scratch around rookie Caron Butler and a new cast. Miami also is desperate for a young point guard. Gee, know any teams who have too many of those? The Bulls are close to contending in the East, they just seem one very good player away. Jones should be that player. Soon.
this trade will most likely go down because riley wants to rebuild and the best way to do that is to start from scrap (cap room). as for the bulls, they are just 5 games away from the final playoff spot. a trade for jones can help them get to the final playoff spot. not just the playoff spot, but Krause always wanted a veteran who can teach these young guys how to win games. in addition to this, Krause made a run at ej in the summer of 2000 so it's no surprise that he's still interested in ej.
let's face it..wizards aren't gonna stay at the final spot for long. mj's gonna wear down and there's the season.
