What happens to the value of a card if it's removed from a graded case? Please reply.

Some hockey cards that came out in 00-01 were only in graded cases. You bought 1 pack for around $100 and got either a graded auto and/or GU. They were not made available in ungraded versions.
I'm considering trading with a guy who has a card like this. BV is $80... Does this change the value? I'm assuming he removed it because he didn't like the grade or something, but was just lookin' for a little input.
Thanks in advance,
Zack

Any card that is graded by one of the big three (SGC, PSA, BGS) and still encapsulated is worth more than a card in similar condition that is not graded/encapsulated. It's simply easier to sell graded cards on E-bay and to trade them to fellow collectors....

To get to the point, I would ask for a slight reduction in book because he busted it out of the case. The book price takes into consideration the grading.
