Comments

  • The bubble mailer was probably like 0.70 cents, plus the 0.60 cents for postage, thats like $1.30. $2 isnt unfair then as it takes time to go mail then. $2 is fair. Anything more is a rip!!
  • Practically every single seller does that...charges $2-$3 when it costs $1 max to ship it...its just how it is. If your getting this worked up over $1.40 though you have problems.

  • dude, are you friggin high? $2 to ship is not only reasonable, but CHEAP nowadays...what i cant stand is sellers who charge 5 or 6 bucks and spend $1 to ship...
  • LOL. Ya...one time I think I was charged $4.00 and god knows what he probably only payed.

Tightwads image. When I send cards in bubble mailers, shipping is 80 cents on an average, but was as high as $1.30.

Well, tell him you will give him $1 s/h and to send in a regular envelope at your own risk. If it gets to you damaged, don't complain.

I'm back - you better believe it
  • 2 shipping is CHEAP lol dont complaine bro.
  • I charge $2 shipping in a bubble mailer, top loader or memorabilia top loader or screwdown, and also in a teamset bag. NBT
The only thing you can`t get rid of by losing it, is your temper!!! Heres an idea, if everyone would mind their own business we would all get along better!!!!

  • << <i>What I usually do when I sell is $2 shipping and $1 extra if they want it insured. >>

You are cheap because insurance is $1.30 (up to $50).
  • Don't forget some people are charging more for shipping to cover the costs of Paypal going up in fees image. It's not right, but what can you do, they have free rein to charge what they want. Just have to check the auctions carefully before bidding, and if they don't list charges in the auction write them and ask for them before you bid. I have mentioned in feedback to people if I think they are overcharging for postage as well, doesn't hurt to get the word out as a warning to others.
I still collect Tim Duncan! Love all high end auto's, and game used basketball of Tony Parker, and Ginobili too! image This means more to me than any card...You can catch me on my site: Highlight Reel Trading
  • I have left POS feedback with notes like, Nice card could buy UPS for shipping costs... etc, When I sell on ebay it is $4.35 plus ins if desired, $3.80 Priority + .55 Delivery Confirmation ($5.25 for sig Confirmation for auctions over $50.) but still only actual cost, everyone is advised to read the complete auction and ask questions BEFORE you bid, I am also guilty of not, but if you bid I assume you read it...
I have had buyers email and ask to send reg mail as they didn't have enough $ for shipping(after auction ended) Slam...sorry
  • I charge $2.50 on the average, but only send in bubble mailer. As I posted earlier, shipping has been on an average of 80 cents, but as high as $1.30. I usually put everything in a penny sleeve/top loader/team bag, but sometimes add extra padding to make sure it doesn't get damaged. I mail everything from the post office and keep the receipt until they've contacted me and let me know they've receive or left feedback on Ebay.
  • Yea, I have no clue what this guy is whining about. Most people on ebay charge $2.50-$3.50 for shipping. Maybe I can see some reasons why he is suspended. Probably cause he refused to pay a seller that was charging $2.50 shipping!!! Wow, what a rip off, lol. Personally I charge $2 for S&H which is like my exact costs. .83 for bubble envelope, .60 for shipping. That adds to $1.43. Then .57 for gas and tape expenses, I say that pretty much covers the $2, maybe I even lose money on the gas. Stop your whining about $2 for S&H on ebay

  • you think thats bad? man, i must have hit the top 3 a-holes on ebay or something, $36 for shipping on 30 cards, $26 for shipping on 50 cards, and by far the funnniest most pathetic(which i didnt pay for!) $18 for a box. Guy lives in Indiana and I live in Wisconsin. Would of cost him maybe $5 for the box!
  • DAM RIGHT DONT FORGET THE LABOR AND ALL AND SOMEPEOPLE HAVE BUSINESSES SO THEY HAVE TO CHARGE 3 BUCKS BUT 5-6 IN RETARTED

He needs to stay away from Ebay if he is that tight on the pockets before he runs his blood pressure up.
  • 70 cents a bubble mailer? damn i buy in bulk(100 at a time) for $10. however pays 70 cents outta be shot. I can see paying those prices if u send 1-2 every couple weeks, but on ebay they send 15-20 a week.
  • If you don't like the seller's TOS,THEN DON'T BID!!!!!!!!!!!!! image If you didn't take the time to read the TOS, THEN THAT IS YOUR OWN FAULT!!!!! I charge $1.50 for single, non-graded cards in a sleeve, top load, team bag and bubble envelope and NO ONE HAS EVER COMPLAINED when there was only .60 postage.

If I am the buyer, I ALWAYS factor all the costs (shipping, insurance etc.) into my bid and bid accordingly.
    Bawlamer Oaryuls Rule, Hon!!!
    imageimage
  • I charge $1.50 and anything more is too high but it is normal. 1st class shipping in a bubble envelope is 49 cents, 60 cents if thicker holder, the envelope if purchased in bulk costs between 11 and 20 cents, $1.50 more then covers this and even covers some eBay and Paypal fees. I have been grossly overcharged in shipping, and sometimes I contact the seller asking for some money back, and I have gotten it from some.

lol if i would of know the guys wouldnt combine shipping, or combined at a ridiculous rate i wouldnt of bid! no way in hell would it cost anybody anywhere near $36 or $26 for 50 cards. and the box guy said in his auction shipping would vary depending on where you lived.
  • lol auto, i could probably wrap myself in a box and send it to guy for under $18! hell, definetly for under $36!
  • yea 5 dollars for box shipping is not right... or 7....
im just saying i won this card for 3 something ended up paying 6 bucks for it!
i shouldnt have 2 pay for the frickin bubble mailer!? these guys get em in like lots. this particular dude got em from some web site...

  • WELL BETTER A BUBBLE THAN A PLAIN WHITE ENVELOPE
  • actually $5 for a box is reasonable, $18 isnt!

Ahh.. there's your problem. You buying cheap cards. When spending $20+ on a card, $2-$3 is nothing. I've paid $5 for a card with $2 s/h, but relisted it and made $51 + $2 s/h on the same card. but if that is a problem for you to pay $2 for s/h, ask seller to send in reg. envelope AT YOUR OWN RISK. Remember, you get what you pay for.

I always charge $3, but this is insured and they get no option. I've dealt with the people saying they didn't get it and it yanks my chain. So this way, it saves us both a headache

He is definately top runner for "Tightwad of the Century".
  • I've done over 5000 Ebay auctions and I charge $1.50 s/h for a single card for mailing in a penny sleeve, inside a hard sleeve inside a padded bubble mailer or the buyer can send a SASE. At $1.50 I make a small profit on the s/h, but I figure my time to go to the post office costs me gas and time.

  • lmao $2 is to much for shipping? You have options, you can always drive to where the seller is and pick it up! Ive never seen a auction that was titled non-profit, what do you have against someone making a extra dollar! If you can't pay don't play. image

are u kidding me? why is it the sellers job to pay for all the shipping supplies (bubble envelope, tape, penny sleeve, top loader)? shipping/handling means that you are paying for the shipping costs plus the costs for them to package and get the item in the mail. any major business u go thru charges these fees b/c they would be losing money on each transaction.

How about the seller just write your address on the back of the card and put a stamp on it and drop it in the mail.
  • if its in a top loader... then i think it wont get damaged in a regular envelope...
tha padding dont help that much does it??? aw i just want my card... lol
  • baird34baird34 Posts: 1,174
the odds of it getting damaged are not that great... but there is a chance. the big risk u are running is by sending with just a plain white envelope... those nice people at the post office can tell a lot easier what is in the envelope. image

You wanna bet? Also, and you can ask a bunch here, if something is sent in regul;ar envelope, you may receive an empty envelope with a slit down the side. As I said before, you get what you pay for. The post office is notorious for that.
  • How about the seller just write your address on the back of the card and put a stamp on it and drop it in the mail. >>

Lmao, thats too funny. You should be careful throwing that idea out there though,There are some 'morally bankrupt' sellers who may start doing that and selling them as 1/1 cards."Any true collector MUST OWN THIS!,Genuine 1/1 Michael Jordan 1994 Hoops base card with postage stamp and date cancelation stamp.Any True MJ fan must have this Opening bid only $500 bid fast,Bid often.Power Seller."

I dont mind paying $2 or $3 for S&H but it gets agrivating when you pay more and sometimes do get a card in a plain envelope,I've had it happen a few times payed $3 for shipping and recieved a card in a 10 cent envelope and a 34 cent stamp.

Theres been many a debate about S&H fees on eBays user forums,I dont agree sellers should inflate S&H to profit/cover their expenses and neither does eBay it is a suspendable violation. But if your paying $2 for S&H and at least 60% of that is cost of the S&H theres no crime there,It's those who charge $5 and above and mail for $1 or $2 and plainly state that they are using S&H to help profit that should be dealt with.If they want to make sure they get a certain % of profit they should sell with a higher opening bid or use a reserve.Just my thoughts,No offense meant to anyone buyers nor sellers.image
  • Dude, listen to the guys with the experience. Bubble and insurance is the ONLY way to go if you like to avoid grief. These guys are trying to help you.

Your statement that you made, "I should not have to pay for the bubble envelope", is crazy. When you bid on an item you agree to the terms of the bidders listing. Simple as that. You should have to abide by that agreement. If you don't like it, don't bid on it.

Others are VERY willing to pay for the bubble envelope...image
