i initially read this story and wished i hadn't. then i thought more about it more.

many of you, if not all, are likely to curse my name for wasting precious minutes of your day with this. but hey, it's the slowwwwww part of the year around here. we need things to talk about. i caught this story and couldn't believe that i had wasted precious minutes of MY day delving into it. but i did so because there are ties to golf.
let me set the stage.
Sahith Theegala is a PGA Tour player. his fiancée is an active type on social media. i obviously know who he is. i had only heard of her (and seen her) via keeping up with him. had no idea that she was an influencer prior to this story. even if i had, i wouldn't have cared one iota.
last weekend, the tour stop was in Cromwell, Connecticut (Travelers Championship), which is a short drive from Bristol.........home of ESPN. i seldomly watch ESPN, including Sportscenter, but i have seen Gary Striewski before -- one of their anchors.
so, due to the proximity, this Striewski guy ran into Theegala and his fiancée in a coffee shop. as the story goes, she grabbed a table while Sahith was waiting for their drinks. Striewski sees her, goes over to her, sits within inches and says, "has anyone spotted you yet?" mind you, he knew who she was, but she had no idea who he was. according to them both, the response was, "i guess now." she claims it was said jokingly. he claims it was said as if she was offended because she's full of herself.
this is when i began to analyze this curious situation, for reasons still very unknown.
who would do what he did? would any of you guys? especially knowing that she was spoken for? i say no. what if you were ever-so-slightly "famous" like he is? would you do it then? i still say no for each and every one of you. i know i would never in a million years.
but it didn't stop there, which it absolutely should have. Striewski, for reasons that are more unknown than my interest in this, then takes to TikTok to tell his side of the story -- a story that never would have seen the light of day had he not done so. check it out. and to lob a cherry on top of this piece of shit cake, he appears to be at the ESPN studio while doing so.
after watching it, i tried to decide what type of tool this dude is. how did he get a job at ESPN? does this scream professionalism or is it middle school all over again? my overarching take is, HE'S completely full of himself. full of himself for brazenly doing what he did in the coffee shop, then full of himself for taking to TikTok ( 
) to share a big, fat nothing burger for all to see. all because the guy is probably not used to receiving ice cold reactions from women when he makes conscious decisions to do things he probably shouldn't have in the first place.
she replied to his vid with her side on her instagram page. look for the hyperlink in the article to watch it. to me, she came across as credible.
Sahith made a post (also in the article), and i liked everything he said.
the absurdity of it all is almost comical, but i truly would love to know various thoughts on this. unfortunately, this is real-life stuff. things that you and i would encounter in our daily lives. and that's why i -- much to my chagrin -- ultimately proceeded with it.

I don’t know the espn guy but you can tell just by that video he made what a complete dork he is. He’s so full of himself to think anyone cares about some random interaction he had with a woman. What a jacka$$ imo.
