I’m one of the very few collectors who have chosen to collect this series with medals graded MS70 by PCGS. The pops are super low in MS70. However, there is very low demand.

Only the U.S. Mint has data on the number of raw medals they have sold of each President. Obviously the first few have likely had higher sales than the rest, imo.

Here’s a link to PCGS Pop figures of those they have graded. Since there are very few auction sales, I don’t see any sources showing values. I suspect those graded MS69 and lower are probably valued from $100 - $120 or so, since they sell raw for $90 by the Mint (as of this moment). The next raw release in February (Woodrow Wilson) will likely have a higher price from the Mint. All of this is just my own speculation.

Warning: This graded Pop data is in a GIANT list. You have to scroll down to near the very bottom. Other non-related medals are intermingled. Scroll back up a bit more, and you’ll find John Adam’s and George Washington.

I bought several PCGS graded MS70 First Strike and non First strike Silver Presidential medals recently on eBay.

Most ranged between $116 and $120.

Now the prices are starting to reflect the new Mint price of $164.....and many are raw with OGP.

    The bargains are dwindling fast.

BTW, I really like the designs and the history in this series.

Perhaps the series popularity will start to grow in the future with silver prices through the roof.

I fear the opposite, with the raw price of $164. Graded ones, like what you and I bought, might be available for $210 or more. Sure, I’ll continue buying to keep my MS70 set complete, but it’ll be tough to get others to start this collection. I started only about two years ago, and scrounged around to get past issues while obtaining the newly released ones. This price increase roughly doubles the cost to new collectors to get all of the past issues.

I recently sent in two of the Thomas Jefferson Silver Presidential medals, one was a MS68 and here is the other was a MS70.

    More to come.
