Going through a box of poundage earlier today, I stumbled upon a neat little item - what's it worth?

Depending on estimated value, it might be a door prize for our coin club meeting next week. Thanks!

Raw UNC, maybe $40? Slabbed UNC, maybe $60-100. Check Stacks archives.

These 1980s errors are quite common, but demand has picked up in the last 10 years.

Some time back at Long Beach, I saw a case half-full of errors (off-center strikes, clips, etc.) from this era in a pile. Must have been hundreds of them. I didn't inquire on prices, but they are obviously common. Recent eBay auction of an NGC MS67 of this same type coin, $108 including shipping.

    FWIW...

Perhaps 100+ in a good day.

  • I would grade it something like MS-62/3. In the $40 to $60 range (raw), it seems like a pretty good door prize!

The only other useful coins I found were three unusually attractive 1930s Canadian cents that should grade something like MS-63/4 BN. Those might make a nice little offering if grouped together.

    Thanks for the help, everyone.
