This is a really tough to find date and much more difficult to find than later dated gold dollars in the 1880's. It is extremely well struck, with blazing luster, and great mix of light and darker gold colors. It has one small hairline on the obverse under the E, but is otherwise mark free. It has a relatively small premium in cost over more common date issues.

The most recent comparable auction sale was for a PCGS MS63 on 10/2022 at GC for $1294. The wholesale Greysheet price is $1150 and the PCGS guide is $1750. A MS64 of this date has not sold since 1/2021.

Priced to sell at $1200 shipped.
