Does this Rice rookie have any chance of being a PSA 10?

Card is pristine, sharp corners, good centering and no visible issues of any kind. I am aware its hard to get a 10 especially on this set and card. But is it possible?

Please note Ive taken it out of the sleeves and any of those minor spots you may see are a result of the top loader. I understand its impossible to grade like this, once again all Im asking if there is any possibility it could be graded a 10.

Thanks in advance

  • Ugh sorry about the awful quality of the pictures.

  • Here is one graded psa9. Astonishingly. Mine looks better.

The above Rice looks like an 8 at best. If I subbed it maybe a 7.
IMO there is a tiny white lower right cornet with a touch of white.

  • There are over 29,000 PSA graded Jerry Rice cards, only 60 graded 10. Having graded 30 or so myself, with a fantastic card you should hope for an 8 and be elated with anything above.

Can you tell us a little about the grading process for the Rice? Have you guys been instructed to intentionally undergrade and pop control this card? Mine looks better than many pictures of 9 and 10s Ive seen and I dont know what grading company I should send it to...

Not complicated. Grading standards have tightened in recent years and you have to have a 1-in-a-million card to get even a 9 on this particular card. Hugely condition sensitive. Send them in at $100 value apiece and see what happens. Can’t hurt.

  • Not a 10, the bottom right, when looked at normally has a touch of white. Also, the top right, though it's blurry, looks to have a greyish tone at the corner. You really need to post better pictures. A big bright flash in the center of a card doesn't do anyone, any good.

Check out the psa10 RIce rookie I posted above. Looks way worse than mine. PSA should be ashamed of themselves.

That's a PSA 9 that you posted. Grading is subjective. I saw in the other thread you are subbing them, good luck. Also, this is PSA's site. I dont believe calling them names in their own house is a good way to stay invited.
