1943 Steelie for Grading

Alright, last one for today, what do you think this one would grade?

It has a really nice obverse, and the reverse seems to have some sort of planchet irregularity.

Carbon spot on the head... Beat up rims. . . I wouldn't do it.

I'd say a 66 on a good day. Buy a 66 on Ebay for cheaper than grading.

Not nice enough to warrant the expense of slabbing. The rim roughness is a major negative. This is a very common coin so there is no reason to believe that the graders are going to be kind to it.

I believe it is not worth grading.... Rim roughness and carbon spot... Looks like a minor die crack on the reverse. Buy one already slabbed. Cheers, RickO

At first glance it looks nice, then you see the carbon spots and rough rim and toss it into the bargain bin bucket.

Agree with others - good album coin though. A lot of the steelies you see in BU Lincoln albums are hideously rusted.

True, I screwed up my 66 value and apparently thought that is what a 67 costs .
