1877 Indian cent

PppPpp Posts: 517 ✭✭✭✭

I never bought an ag3 coin until I saw this 1877 Indian cent. I also, very rarely buy anacs slabbed coins.

I normally do not buy Indians heads however one of my local stores offered this coin at what I considered an very good price which if it was someone else I would really wonder what is wrong. Concerns are the 7 looks short, maybe because it is worn, and the air gap in the slab.

What do you think of this this coin for $150-?

You're selling it for 151 I'm buying. Seriously, I don't think anybody would pass up a 1877 Indian Head Cent if that price. Congrats oh, great by regardless of the condition.

Everythings there that you need to know and see.

It's a nice, circulated example of a popular and scarce coin.

I'd probably go for it. The reverse is a strong G-4 and the obverses on this date are always a little weak at 12 to 3 o'clock.

Great pickup, I don't think you will ever have a problem making a profit if and when you decide to sell.

Shallow N reverse... looks good (well, almost ;) ) to me! I'd definitely buy at $150!

Correctly graded as AG3. A good coin for a budget collection. Easily worth the price you paid.

Yeah, you can’t pass up an AG 1877 for $150. Certified to boot and looks nice for the grade. I’d jump on it👌😎

Everyone thank you for the comments. I know the greysheet is over $300- and for $150- I had to pause, for about three seconds.
    I did buy it.
He also had two other anacs graded 1877 but both were detail (ag3 and g6) so I only bought the straight graded ag3 stated in this post.

I paid about 300$ for this G6 in an OGH so 150$ seems about right for blow out retail
