Latest Good News/Bad News - PCGS Estimated Submission Turnaround Times

For the past couple of months or so, Express submissions were estimated at about five weeks (25 days), and Regular submissions were estimated at 10 weeks (50 days). I just saw an update - Express has now dropped to four weeks (20 days), but Regular has now increased to 13 weeks (65 days). Ugh! Apparently the Quarterly Reconsideration special might be having an impact.

Just when my order was going to be 50 days next week.
Well I suppose it is what it is at this point. I have a few I intend to send off so I hope I see those back before Christmas, fingers crossed!
Coin Photographer.
I have a 6 coin World Economy submission that was received on 2-22-2022 that is still in "Grading".
I also have a 28 coin Economy submission that was received on 2-22-2022 that is in "Quality Assurance".
94 business days and counting for both submissions.
I have no idea when these two submissions will be completed. Hopefully by the end of July, or the end of August.
I do not expect Trueview photos of the coins in these submissions to post prior to the beginning of October.
I have additional coins (over 100) that I want to submit for grading and Trueviews. I am not going to do so until all of my outstanding submissions are completed. I may also wait further for turn around times to drop.
Here's a breakdown

45mil coins & Banknotes graded in 35 years:
Per year 1,285,714.2857142
That's a bunch of coins & Banknotes per year,,,I wonder bout per day and for giggles let's say they are open 365:
Impressive 👍 @3,522.50
Hmmm I wonder per hour @8hrs &365:
Let's just say 18 graded specimen per hour,, super impressive & let's see how much time each coin or banknote gets too be looked at and graded,,, also keep on mind they are not open 365x8 so you get less from the time it hits their desks:
Hmmm 3 coins & or banknotes a minute, now take into consideration the 1000 employees and their expert graders with exp, I mean total number of them and shave the days off there's your real coin or banknote time spent with grader.
I think it's safe to say,,, speed grading is on full throttle.
JMO that's a bunch of coins & bank notes
Congrats

are they working weekend or holidays? If not 365 days becomes 240.
3-4 months...or much longer in some cases is not a good situation. And there is talk about another grading company coming soon. Hmm

they mention business days - maybe closer to 15 a month because if their trips
Certainly seems to be an overload of business, based on the current postings about submissions. I am sure our hosts are addressing the issues. That being said, grading is a skilled field and I would think the labor pool is very limited. Cheers, RickO
I find the times to be very disheartening because I'd rather have MY coins sitting here than sitting who knows where under whatever conditions for three months. I am patient and can wait till a hoped for speeding up of the process. In the meantime, what I'd like to submit increases and I'll wait as long as I can till I submit before my yearly subscription runs out. At that point, I'll send the order and cancel my auto-renewal till sanity returns.
Mine are all over the place.

BHNC #248 … 130 and counting.
I canceled my auto-renewal and for the first time in 20 years I’m unable to submit. I’ll renew my membership when things return back to some degree of normalcy. I would have to think that there are plenty of collectors like me and this can’t be helping PCGS’ bottom line.
