I don’t think the bull run is over yet. So today I was trying to see if I can buy some bullion silver at close to melt ($86) on eBay. I can’t find any at melt price. Almost all asked for 100 or above 100 per oz. A coin dealer in Shanghai showed the silver he bought from auction yesterday. That kind of showed they only want physical silver not paper silver. 15 kilo per bar and some oz panda in the bag.

China bought gold again last month.

    From news:

Feb 7 (Reuters) - China's central bank extended its gold buying spree for a 15th month in January, data from the People's Bank of China (PBOC) showed on Saturday.
The country's gold holdings rose to 74.19 million fine troy ounces by the end of January, up from 74.15 million the previous month.

Gold above 5K again. It might need to try another time or it might just go from here and make new high.

Today is gold closed above 5k third times which is very good. I believe gold will go higher for the year, possibly we will see 6k by year end or even sooner than that. We shall see.

Wow... I remember when this thread got started... I had bought a little gold initially when it was ~$1275/oz... just a $5 Liberty and a $2.5 Indian... then gold immediately jumped. I held off trying to buy a $20 Saint in the Hope's that gold would get back to under $1500... lol... when it blew past $2k, I bought... a common date MS65 Saint and a common date $10 Indian. I waited for the right $3 Princess to come along. The numismatic premium is still there relative to the gold content but it seems to be less than (ie compressed) relative to before the runup in gold.

Glad I bought when I did!

Getting closer with weekly highs averaging 5k plus.

My 2013 times 3 = would be spot on if we get to $6,039 an ounce.

If gold can stay above 5200 and silver 92 for three trading days, they will test new high soon.

Silver high was $121, right ?

Global physical delivery price was a bit higher than our paper promises silver.

If people need silver for manufacturing then those people buy silver metal which sells for more.

    GOOGLE ME THIS ?

"What is an all-time high for silver ???"
"Silver Price History. Silver's current, nominal all-time high is $121.67, set on January 29, 2026."

& all time high is also in January 2026 at $5608 per 24k ounce

    24k 5c & couple .999 silver 5 Cents

when gold moved from 2K to 3K that's 50% move but when gold move from 5K to 6K that's only 20% move, so 20% move up in 2026 for gold that's very possible. As I said before more funds will buy gold.

Back when gold was $400 an ounce I picked this 1 of 4 hot struck gold off a fleabay auction for $180 which was less than 1/2 oz metal cost at the time. Now its like $2,700 melt or 10% back & has zero numismatic premium.

If gold doubles or triple from here I think alot of coins will get liquified & re-imagined.

OK, not yet back to 5,000 plus, but definitely a significant move back up from having hovered close to $4,000 recently.

As one of the gold gurus noted, the factors that got gold to its highs earlier this year haven't changed.

lol! here's a blast from the past! I remember when this thread first started! I had purchased a small amount (just a $5 Lib and a $2.5 Indian) when gold was ~$1275/oz... I was waiting/hoping for sub $1500 so I could add the higher denomination classic gold pieces. Long story, short... when gold hit $2000 "and had legs", I immediately bought my $20 Saint and $10 Indian. At the time, there was little premium for an MS65 Saint, so I ended up with a higher grade common date piece (1924). I opted for a 1910-D Indian $10 in an MS62 OGH... both generic for sure, but I'm happy I bought when I did! I finished off the gold I wanted last year with this $3 Princess: PCGS AU53 CAC... The numismatic premium for a $3 gold is still there, but it has definitely shrunk relative to the amount of actual gold in a $3 gold piece...
